Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.)
Overview

Researchers at the university get access to research and innovation conducted by their peers and colleagues. They also actively participate in seminars and conferences worldwide to present their findings and learn about the latest developments in their areas of specialisation.
Terms & Program Content
Pre Ph.D. Course work
Candidates admitted into the Ph.D. program are required to complete pre Ph.D. course work comprising two terms over a total duration of one year. The first two semesters (first year) of the Ph.D. program is devoted to course work. Successful completion of course work would confirm the registration. Two years after successful completion of course work; the student is eligible to submit the thesis.
Successful completion of Pre Ph.D. course work
Candidates will be awarded a pass in Pre Ph.D. Course upon:
– Securing an aggregate of 55% marks in the term end exams, and a minimum of 55% marks in each subject.
– Declared as Qualified by the Pre Ph.D. committee consisting of Guide, External Expert and Internal Member in the Synopsis Presentation and Literature Review.
Seminar
On successful completion of the Pre Ph.D. program, an open Seminar shall be presented by the Research Scholar wherein he is expected to defend the research proposal. The Seminar shall be presented before an Evaluation Committee consisting of 3 experts, of which at least one shall be from University of Asia in addition to the Guides. The Committee will recommend the suitability of the candidate for registration into the Ph.D. program.
Registration to Ph.D. Program
Final Registration of candidates into Ph.D. program will be based on:
– Successful completion of Pre Ph.D. program
– Recommendation of the Evaluation Committee
– Approval of the Ph.D. Registration Committee
Note: Prior to registration, the student should furnish original certificates/documents and credentials that will be prescribed by the University of Asia from time to time.
Doctor of Letters (D.Litt.)
The Honorary D.Litt. is not a regular programme of the University.
It is giving only on recommendation, as a symbol of tribute and honor.
